FYI: SPOOKS ON ABC AUSTRALIA
For those members in Australia: in case you haven't caught up with it, the ABC Message Board Moderator indicated in a post re: Spooks that "While we are on the topic of Spooks, just letting you know that there is still no news on series 8."

RE: FYI: SPOOKS ON ABC AUSTRALIA
That sounds about right. They usually keep it for autumn programming in Australia, so we'll be lucky if it's here in march or April. Definitely after Easter.

RE: FYI: SPOOKS ON ABC AUSTRALIA
Just received the following from the ABC (17/11/2009):

Dear Margaret

Thank you for your email regarding Spooks.

Series eight of Spooks is yet to be released in the UK. It is too early to confirm whether the ABC is securing the broadcast rights for this series, although it is likely we will owing to its popularity among our audience. Visit http://www.abc.net.au/tv regularly for updates. The ABC have the broadcast rights to repeat series five, six and seven however scheduling is yet to be considered.

Thank you for taking the time to write.

Kind regards

This response is a little worrying: seems "Auntie" does NOT know that the series IS currently showing in the UK. Maybe he means the DVD of Series 8???

I'll follow up and advise.

I think they're referring to the broadcast rights. I doubt the BBC sells those rights until the series is fully aired in the UK.
