Good point, Tea Lady - about it possibly being reminiscent of season 7.

I doubt they would revisit Russia so soon for a really big storyline and not just one episode, like Dasharvin.

A 6'6" lady....rules out Juliet Shaw then !

RA mentioned America and China but I don't remember him saying anything about Russia but that could have been deliberate.

I'm sure Harry would have had many females throwing themselves at him in his youth and if he got off the Grid more he'd probably still find them out there waiting to jump on him. My guess is half this forum for starters!!

My bet for this season is China and has been for a while. They thought about doing it three seasons back but decided to wait. I think the timing is good.

It's also implied via Max Brown's new job as a 'piracy' expert.

I think the difference to the character of Lucas goes back further than his time in Russia...

So will Max actually get a wooden leg and a parrot do we think?Yahoo

Lucas North: Your situation is more precarious than you realize, Connie, so stop pressing buttons and give us something.
Connie James: Threats don't work with a person who has nothing to lose.
Lucas North: Oh, you're too ingenious to think that I'm threatening you. I'm offering you a simple choice: help us or don't. I'll leave you to compute the implication.Cool

That sounds very Alias to me.

I do think that if Lucas is a secondary spy of some sort it would be a betrayal of sorts to his character, certainly the man I think him to be. He's very straight up and down really - what motivates Lucas, as far as we know, is basically loyalty. To his team and to the Service.

I don't think I would like a storyline that mucks about with that.

I agree with you JHyde, that Lucas is loyal and that is what defines his character. But in the interview RA said that he was surprised that Lucas wasn't what we think he is. I too would not like a story that suggests he is disloyal to his country, but that was the impression I got from the interview.

Lucas 8.4: It's all about trust, isn't Harry ?.

OK, well that's comforting.

I think everybody wants better Lucas stories. I think when his character is done well, the show is at its best.

Yes, yes, Harry too - but you know I think that. Lucas is still very much an unknown quantity.

Agreed -- Lucas is too much the loyal soldier. Messing about with that characterization wouldn't ring true. Even in TV, you do have to have some kind of character consistency for it to be believable.
