RE: Peter Firth
I don't think the dog that plays Scarlet (lol... sorry, dog actors makes me laugh) is that aggressive...

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

RE: Peter Firth
I love that the dog's called Scarlet. I sometimes wonder if we have the spelling wrong and he called it after Scarlett O'Hara because he thought the character was a dog.....that sounds like the sort of thing he'd do.

That's probably more of a Harry point.

I haven't seen Hunt For Red October....is he a bad guy in that?

RE: Peter Firth
I am jealous of Scarlet/Scarlett.

As for Hunt for Red October he plays a die hard Communist but he is literally only in the film for five minutes towards the start. They were showing it on Sky a few weeks ago and I literally thought is that it? He was good though.

I have just purchased off the net, Letter to Brezhnev, Tess, and the fourth series of the Vice. PF is in one of the episodes of the Vice. I am currently hiding them in my laptop bag in my study as my husband thinks I am obsessed enough with Spooks. I will try and watch them sometime in the next few months.

He's good in Tess. It's one of Polanski's better movies.

I haven't seen Dorian in years, but I want to track it down to show my sister. She loves the book (as do I) and I want to show her a younger Peter Firth.

Lol! He seems to love dogs, but since we haven't seen him interact with any cats, it's difficult to say. I really love the fact that he was so good with the dog that they have to gush about it on the commentary. Big Grin

And another mystery - is Scarlet male or female? I thought the name was female, but in the diary Harry referred to it as male...

And yes, in Hunt for Red October he plays the bad communist to Sean Connery's good communist.

RE: Peter Firth
I love that episode so much....I SO wish I had commentary for it. It's really hard to fake liking animals though, or fake liking children when you don't, no matter how good an actor you are. So I suspect, given how natural he seems with the dog, that he probably likes animals. Which is really endearing. And why I've obviously thought this through Smile

I'd love to know why Scarlet is named Scarlet. It's probably something really basic though, like it was one of the writer's dogs when they were a kid or something.

RE: Peter Firth
Maybe it's because Harry seems to like red? His office is very red...

RE: Peter Firth
Or otherwise he might have let the kids name it, or something.

slightly off-topic here, but the twitter Ruth seems to think there is a Gone with the Wind theme, I notice her new cat was called Rhett...
