There is a comment on the PF website to that effect but I looked into this a few weeks ago and couldnt see that he did appear in it in the end. I think it was called something like "Blood and Oil." It was on BBC2. I found a short clip of it on You Tube which showed the opening few minutes and Danny was mentioned in the opening titles but not PF. PF name is also not mentioned in the BBC press release. If he was in it then it must have been a really minor part.

RE: Peter Firth
You're thinking of Blood and Oil. He's already done that, I'm sure. I'm not sure if it's been shown already.

PF had a very minor role, and may not have shared scenes with Oyelowo.

Is he in it long enough to be a bad guy? Isn't he the political officer who "slips" on his tea?

Maybe because the name of the dog they used actually was Scarlet and that's the name the dog responds to.

RE: Peter Firth
That seems painfully plausible now that you've said it, lwhite53.

I just finished watching Peter Firth and RPJ on Top Gear from last year and I swear, PF talking in a Yorkshire accent is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I remember being surprised when I found out he was from there because he doesn't sound like that at all. I love how softly spoken he is in these things, none of Harry's bluster.

I think I might have a crush on him after that. Forget the fact he's 30 years older than me.

RE: Peter Firth
What, you didnt have a crush on him before? I dont believe it.

PF certainly has a Yorkshire accent in Equus. It is quite strong. He has obviously lost it along the way over the years and possibly had to, to get more work. Have you seen him in the This Morning Interview on You Tube? He is very cute on there and a tad nervous.

RE: Peter Firth
He is, I forced myself to watch it, vile as that woman is. I hate those morning shows. He is softly spoken in every interview I've seen him do over the years.

He does have a Yorkshire accent in Equus, but just about everything else I've seen him do he does his clipped London accent.

Yeah OK, I had it already since about season 4 of Spooks, but for some reason once I like someone and they make me laugh really hard that's it, there's no going back Smile "Oh you noticed that, I thought it was just me!"

Hopefully it will pass soon. I am a little ashamed, not least because I just said so here.

RE: Peter Firth
I am not sure when I first had a crush on him. Probably from watching H/R clips on you tube last year and then I purchased all the DVD box sets a few months ago and starting watching all the series again. Most episodes I had not seen since their original showing on BBC1. There is nothing wrong with a little crush on a celeb from time to time.

RE: Peter Firth
As long as I just hug it to myself or gush a little on here, I think it's OK.

It has everything to do with Firth himself and with Harry and nothing to do with Alan Strang, I am sure.

Funny sidepoint: PF sings in Picture of Dorian Gray, which I'm still trying to get hold of and haven't seen in years. I find it funny that Ruth, in 3.7, says she "likes singers" Smile
