Tom and Christine as a couple - did you like them?
I recently found out that in the Spooks canonical universe, Tom and Christine ended up together after they left their respective services. Married and started their own security agency. I cannot believe this. That they ended up together even after everything that happened. I don't buy it, and I'm surprised that so many people do - the idea of them ending up with a happy ending. I certainly never anticipated Tom would go back to her. What do you think? ![]() "There'll always be something else, Ruth." |

RE: Tom and Christine
I liked the idea of them ending up together. Granted it is not very Spook like, but I do love a happy ending ! I am desperately trying to remember exactly what happened to them but wasn't Christine threatened with prison (or worst) if she did not help.

RE: Tom and Christine
She was. I don't blame her for what she did. But I just don't buy them getting back together.

RE: Tom and Christine
I do. Tom was very conflicted when he left the service and I imagine he spent the first months of his "retirement" re-connecting with his real self, the one he had kept in the box for so long. I think after all the horrors he had seen and been a part of, Tom longed for normality, just being part of the everyday life around him. And I think Christine fit into his new life because she understood where he had come from, which was something he really could not have explained to anyone else. She had warned him that the spy life would destroy him and, as it turned out, she had been right. And, I believe they loved each other no matter what else had happened. Now that they did not have conflicting jobs, they could actually work on their relationship.

RE: Tom and Christine
I see Tom falling for women who he knows at some level not working out for him, so it makes a lot of sense.
At some level I would expect them to end up divorced. George Bernard Shaw - "Reading made Don Quixote a gentleman. Believing what he read made him mad." |

I had JHyde's opinion, I didn't believe them back together but what you've said makes sense...

I would like to see him come back. I am pretty sure all the people that doubted the writers in series 8 can eat their words or posts. |

RE: Tom and Christine
I would like to see Tom come back too (as I have posted in Series 1).
I also liked the Christine Dale character. She is a very attractive lady, and Megan Dodds is also a fine actress. Is it possible she and Tom could have been working as satellite operatives in a deep undercover location? Bring back Tom Quinn (and Jools Siviter)... |
