Yes, you're right, they should tie those loose ends... Series 9 should start when series 8 ended.
I don't like them to leave things unexplained Sad

There are a couple of options.

They can either show us what happened to Ros and the HS and then jump ahead in time (as with season 4-5 and season 6-7) or

They can immediately pick up where they left off and do it "real time" or something close to it, as they did from season 7-8.

- Too much Hollywood style
- Lack of interaction between the characters
- Jo died too soon, I'd also love to have seen Jo and Ruth in the Grid and Jo-Tariq.
- Lucas-Christine 2.0 relationship (but I love she was there to call her Christine 2.0 Big Grin)
- Very sombre, not many happy moments Sad Only in the last episodes we get to see some smiles
- Grid too empty

Excellent post, I completely agree!

In my Things I Liked list I don't have much from Season 8

Episodes 1 & 2 are about it, after those episodes I thought this Season went downhill rather fast.

totally agree with above post - I was dissapointed with this series as it felt flat to me, not enough frrenzied action in the grid and the malcolm going/tariq in bit just felt like an afterthought, we didnt have a proper end for Malc and we still know next to nothing about Tariq. All in all, I am still a devoted fan but wonder if the writers have got a little bored.

I actually thought the final three episodes were good, episode 7 in particular. Episodes 2 and 3 were the ones I enjoyed least, but even they had enough going for them.

For me the standout episodes of the series were 4, 5 and 8 Big Grin The weakest one was 3, although I loved it at first I think that once the end shock factor has gone the storyline wasn't the best.

Episode 3 was the weakest for me (not enough of the officers). Episode 7 was probably my favorite. Lucas, with the Sarah issue aside, took charge in a big way.

Episode 1 remains my favourite, I mentioned the final 3 episodes because I think the latter half of the season was stronger. Episode 5 was better than the ratings and general consensus seemed to reflect.

That's a good description, that the series felt flat. I still don't really know why that is. To me it felt as though the actors couldn't really sell the quieter character moments, because these did not seem to be integral to the plot, but felt tacked on as an afterthought. They just didn't earn many of the emotional moments.

RE: [spoilers] How Did You Rate Season 8?
My favorite episode from this season (not just because it is Lucas centered) is #4. The argument between Lucas and Christine 2.0 was amazing and it was RA at his best the whole series. His character is usually very reserved, but to see him explode like that and then bring it back under control was amazing! Big Grin

Hopefully we can see more of that in season 9....please BBC!! Thud
