RE: Diet tips?
Exercise! Yes!

I always find that when I'm getting a little fluffy, I've been neglecting the exercise.

You can eat whatever you like, I should say how much you like, as long as you do the regular exercise. Follow the guides on protein, carbohydrates, fat, fruits and veggies mainly for your arteries and veins.

If you're drinking a lot of water, get some with electrolytes. I've even read that juice is better than water, especially if you're doing a fast, which is what cutting back feels like after one's been indulging.

Don't deprive yourself totally. You can have something bad once in awhile but don't go overboard.

The first couple of pounds are the worst. Once you lose them you'll feel great and be encouraged to finish the job.

Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!"

Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas."

I've found the last few to be the worst - eventually gave up getting rid of them. And now they're keeping me warm in these freezing times Smile

RE: Diet tips?
I've broken past the 2 pound mark and you're right they were the worst lol. I'm eating salad and apples and drinking lots of water.

As for exercise I'm doing reps of press-ups and sit-ups daily and then going for a long walk in the evening.

I'm generally having a cereal bar for breakfast (when I can) and then grabbing something at about 5, not really eating lunch.

Thanks for all the tips guys, just need to fight the temptation to eat junk food now!

RE: Diet tips?
You definitely have to eat regularly, dude. Every diet known to humanity says that. So it must be true.

Long, medium to high intensity workouts are best.

RE: Diet tips?
I've only eaten two meals for about 2 years, they were just full of crap.

Try eating more often but in smaller quantities?

I think that will be more difficult for me to keep track of how much is enough or too much. It's easy to ensure that the volume of food intake each day is roughly the same, if I only eat twice.

RE: Diet tips?
Smaller plates!
Sounds obvious but I swapped my big huge trendy china for quite small dinner plates - instant portion control!
As I'm a plate-piler who can't bear waste it made a surprising difference and as the plate was still full I didn't feel deprived.

The 'lots of water' tip helps as well and so do distraction tactics - it's hard to eat when your hands are full... what they can be full of is entirely up to personal choice...
(knitting works for me!)

The last few are also the worst but no sense talking about it until the first few are gone.

I'm fairly lean now, after a few years of fluffy, and I know what you mean about the warmth. I've been wearing a sweater to bed and I'm in freaking Texas!

Another thing, muscle requires more food so once you get a fair amount, you can eat more. Also, I stumbled across a tip a few years ago, which makes sense but I was amazed, and that is for a good aging experience, KEEP YOUR MUSCLE MASS. You will be able to fend for yourself longer and stay healthier all around. If you fall, you have a better chance of not breaking anything. I tell everyone I meet.
