RE: Episode 9 Discussion [rewatch]
That defination is really good. That suggests everything that happend to Morgan was torture and therefore illegal in this country.

But I would also argue that this wasn't normal circumstances, in that they knew for certain an attack was planned and Morgan was part of it. They had to shift the line to safeguard the many innocent people.

Of course, it still comes down to when does the end justify the means, which I think this episode was trying to illustrate. And of course the worst torture was treatening Morgan's daughter, which the whole team had a hand-in.

RE: Episode 9 Discussion [rewatch]
Only just got tound to watching this ep so forgive me if I repeat Smile. it is a real strong ep - Spooks at its best.

Loved the mention of Derby haha I have walked past Kedleston Road many a time teehee if only I knew a mercenary lived there! Although it is mainly student housing haha. I'd always wondered whether they used real addresses on TV or just made them up. ANyway off topic Tongue

I loved the development of Adam's character although I didn't like him in this ep. If I had had an experience such as his surely you would feel compassion. Danny did come out of this well, although I hate how Harry constantly treads him down, loaning out his flat etc. (and hasn't that ended badly in the past.. in the ep with the bank) reminded me of the way in 3.7 he dismissed him by telling him to tidy his room. Poor guy.

I also thought Ruth was a little bit too chirpy when she was telling Sam about how the siren was designed to drive people slowly insane. And she is supposed to be the compassionate one. Tssk.

I liked Fiona (and Fiona's outfit) and the little op she had on her own as well as in the marital bliss scenes with Adam. She sensed what was wrong with him and it is good that they always have eachother to talk things out with.

I thought it was funny Harry lending out Danny's flat again, before even asking him. But the scene with Harry and Danny on the bench showed that Harry really did value Danny and took his comments seriously.

Oh, this thread is soooooooo old... Still I need to put my thoughts somewhere and my F&F are already tired of listening about Spooks, especially that I'm rewatching it now Big Grin
It is one of my favorite episodes. I loved all the H/R scenes and hey: we had a chance to see H laughing Wink
Adam was a bit well...scary in this episode, but I read this stuff about Yemen is Personnel files today, so I guess I'll be able to forgive him that :o But seriously, they showed this 'darker' side of him, and I loved it. Being this sweet, perfect and feelingness guy with his new flat and a sexy wife, coming over from six, would make him too artificial...
Finally, there was a lot about morality in this ep. and I find the topic really interesting Wink
