Haha, no, no course credit.

I've got links to the two possible flights:

The one I think is right: http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightStat...umber=5121

The one my classmate thinks is right: http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightStat...umber=5546

The photo was taken at 15:22pm Monday, August 3rd 2009.

RE: Photo Challenge
YFM - I started with Google. Whatever would Harry say to me?!?

Back in my actor days, I did once read a history of Russia while sitting backstage in my dressing room during a production of Peter Pan. There just isn't that much to do between Mrs. Darling and Grown Up Wendy if you aren't a pirate, an indian or a lost boy! Suicida

Nitrus - Prizes? I don't need no stinkin' prizes. I'm in it for the chase! It is serving as a much needed distraction from editing my Operations Manual...Oi Vey. Your stuff is much more fun!

picard1109 - I don't know what "local strategic partnerships" are unless you are speaking from a marketing POV.

RE: Photo Challenge
A cousin - local strategic partnerships are an English local government thing. Stay on the track of the photo - much more important!

Is there any mileage in trying to de-code the web address on the photo? I registered with Image Shack but it didn't get me anywhere. I tried searching online for img69, 9569 and variations on 'wherem' (eg W Herem) in case that made any sense. Doesn't so far.

Thanks, Nitrus. Just what I need: something to distract me from my essay. Aaarrrggghhh!

So Nirus, you are saying that photo was taken at 3.22pm, is that right?
Its just, that photo looks to be of people boarding a plane. Flight DL5121 took off from Atlanta at 4.45pm and DL5546 at 6.20pm. Would you have boarded a flight so early? At least an hour and a quarter before take off?

RE: Photo Challenge
I've been on planes when that has happened, and that's the closest flight that's not BEFORE 15:22, so I have to assume it's correct. It's a good point and I thought it myself, but by process of elimination logic suggests that it's the correct flight.

The time may not be completely accurate, it was taken with an iPhone which could be in the wrong timezone, so it could be 16:22 which would make more sense. Since the US has different timezones across the country, let's say the person taking this photo was routed to Atlanta from somewhere else, that could explain an incorrect timestamp on the photo.

These were all my thoughts. lol.

Yeah, we don't make it easy on ourselves. Atlanta and Panama City are right on the cusp of the time zones too. Panama City is in the Central time zone and Atlanta is in the Eastern time zone. Eastern is one hour later than Central. If the picture taker were going home to Panama City, their phone would be set an hour behind Atlanta time.

RE: Photo Challenge
I searched colleges and Universities that begin with W and have found nothing to fit the West P (maybe o)... on the shirt. Here are the links below. I am pretty sure it is a West Point shirt.

I am enjoying this too much. My husband is calling me Malcolm....

RE: Photo Challenge
I checked the West Point website and the alumni site and there's not much that any help, as far as I can see. If it is Steve Farkus (as A Cousin suggested), he'd probably have graduated WP in 1982 or 83 (as the article said he'd been an officer for nine years). If he went to WP at 18, he'd have been born in 1961...making him 48 or thereabouts now. Even if he'd joined after college, he'd still be in his early to mid-40s now. I'm not sure the guy in our photo looks that old but what do you guys think?

One thing I did find out on the WP website is that WP graduates get a class ring. It's not something we do here in Blighty, so I'm totally ignorant about this... What hand should class ring be worn on, right or left? He's not wearing a class ring on his right hand but I can't see his left hand ring finger...

So...he may not actually be a West Point graduate - he's just wearing a t-shirt. I guess they're pretty easy souvenirs to buy, like "Oxford University" t-shirts in the UK...

None of this helps identify who he is, I know, but it could help eliminate who he isn't. He looks like Adam Clayton to me but I doubt he'd be flying on a scheduled flight from Atlanta to Panama City!
Something that might help us, Nitrus, is if you could tell us how you found out all the other information about the photo.
