Really? I guess the smoothness of his introduction was what put me off at first. It was a little too smooth. Tom fell apart pretty quickly and poof here's his replacement. Zoe and Danny didn't seem to have much as far as reservations about him either.

I think Tom started falling apart after Season 2's Apocalypse episode, so his disintegration didn't seem hurried to me. As for Adam, the reason he was brought in was much more plausible than many lazy shows would have bothered with. He wasn't just a "new guy" that showed up because they needed a ratings boost. If MI-5 was indeed compromised (as it appeared when Tom was framed), it makes sense to pull in someone from outside MI-5. Realistic? Probably not, but much more plausible than a lesser show would have done.

Great points! You've won me over to your way of looking at it. Does that mean I have to admit I was wrong? Hmmm.....

RE: Introduction of Adam
Fiona had the cutest hair when she arrived and then it got changed unfortunately. I didn't care for the cutesy way they were together at home but what do I know about relationships. Maybe that's how they are.

Rooftop scene:
Beth and Dmitri sneak up and disarm Lucas, cuff him and lead him away.
Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!"

Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas."

RE: Introduction of Adam
I really don't think they did it for the ratings as the show was rating well with Tom.

I hated Adam at first as I was very much in love with Tom's character, but he eventually grew on me.

RE: Introduction of Adam
It's a shame that Adam and Tom couldn't have worked together a bit more; I thought they had an interesting dynamic. Mind you, I feel the same about Adam and Lucas working together XD

RE: Introduction of Adam
I don't know. Tom seemed to be a bit miffed about Adam's presence. I don't think they would've gelled well at all. And I can't imagine Adam taking orders from Tom, or vice versa. Confused

Series 7 Spoiler: show
But I do think Adam and Lucas could've worked well together. Lucas certainly could've been benefited from having someone like Adam around to learn from while he was adjusting back to life on the grid.

RE: Introduction of Adam
It took me a while to adjust to his presence, because of my Tom love. But I came to love him just as equally. Tom was cold and tried to distance himself from the work all the while warm and affectionate on the inside, where Adam was smooth, suave and was outwardly warmer. I liked him with Fiona better, but he was just as well rounded in the other series'.
