RE: Matthew Macfadyen
Tea Lady - stick with the series! It does veer from the book in terms of some plotlines and I too found the first two hours of the series a bit disjointed but I think it's because they had to establish so much. There are so many amazing performances and the sets are incredible. IMO just watching Ian McShane get more evil & conniving each episode is worth it! Oh and "Hunk of a Monk" Matthew has some great scenes! Actually the entire cast impressed me.
And if you are patient enough...there is a scene in a future episode that will make you go - OMG that's like a scene from [spooks] series 8 (let me know if you figure out what scene I am referring to) The book was fantastic! Again, it took a bit to get into it, but it ended up being a great read! But wait til the mini-series is over because as I said there are some differences in plot lines and even some characterizations in the series. Enjoy! Thank you TygerBright for my fantastic av & sig! |
