I think that's because he's a bad actor..

RE: Ben
He knew Connie was the mole and was responsible for some seriously evil stuff. It didn't make any sense that he would engage her in conversation while letting her circle round to his back. Sure, play it cool so she wouldn't know that they all knew but keep an eye out for heaven's sake.

Rooftop scene:
Beth and Dmitri sneak up and disarm Lucas, cuff him and lead him away.
Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!"

Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas."

RE: Ben
I think he was just playing it cool, trying to act normal, thinking that if he was normal then
Spoiler: show
she would be less likely to kill him.
Didn't work, obviously.

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

RE: Ben
So to sum up - bad actor, bad officer then?

Sounds a little harsh but I'm inclined to agree.

RE: Ben
It's a very sad state of affairs when his best acting all series was when he was dying.. perhaps Casualty is more his gig? Tongue

RE: Ben
When he was his normal self, as Ben, I think the bad actor vibes take over but, his lack of emotion, part of the furniture persona worked very well when he was in the field. He always appeared lost in his thoughts, doing his own thing and paying attention to no one at all.

It's just instinct to turn when someone circles around behind you. Granted, it was a spectacular death but not believable in the least.

RE: Ben
It was a very "look behind the dawr!" moment - have I said that already?
