[Spoilers] Dimitri Levendes

RE: Dimitri Levendes
I liked his entry into Spooks. Yes we only got a little bit of background on him but it is early days. He may have just been recruited by Harry for this particular mission or for sea/pirate related missions, I don't know, but it looks like he will stay.

I liked the way he tried to be action man with Lucas, saying he could handle the mission, and then Lucas shot him down and put him back in his place, which is bottom of the pack at the moment.

Lucas doesnt seem too keen on any of the new recruits.

RE: Dimitri Levendes
I disagree, I think that Lucas has a healthy respect for Dimitri. For what he is right now. It's just that he sees Dimitri can and will be more with time.

Beth he doesn't like, although I think he does a mild and grudging respect for her.

RE: [Spoilers] Dimitri Levendes
Purely on a superficial level I'm pleased about MB's addition Blush I'd never heard of the SBS until this episode but I have since googled them and hopefully he should be an action man, rather than a tortured soul like Lucas.

We move on from this
It's the realisation that I make a negligible difference
Sometimes you have to give a man a chance

RE: [Spoilers] Dimitri Levendes
I think both Beth and him will provide a 'lighter side to Spooks'..
I also think Lucas was rather protective of Dimitri (though I think he's well aware of newbie's qualifications), staying to watch him and send Beth for the phone... and offering to go back after reporting to Harry. Was thinking huge guilt issues over having to leave, and not being able to go back for, Ros. The scene in the engine room, when Dimitri rationally explains why Lucas & Beth need to go, and he should stay.. very much Ros arguing the necessity to get the Pakistani PM out...Déjà vu?!?
I think the three of them will make for an interesting combo.
..and I'm still hoping for a fight scene between D & L - for whatever reason - not sure whom I'd put my money on.

What a great thought Tyger !!
Who would win............?
I think Dimitri, after all he is a trained SBS operative.

Lucas 8.4: It's all about trust, isn't Harry ?.

Hey Tea Lady, I like your new avatar thing.

I think he's a keeper too. I think that I am going to like him as much as Adam. I cared about what happened to Adam and I get the same feel about Dimitri. Dont know why really, just a gut feeling. I don't really give a monkeys about Lucas, as we've never got to know him (might change soon though!)

Hopefully next week they will pad out Dimitri's character as in the first episode he was entirely caught up in the story of the week. I wonder how he will interact with Ruth. She was really close to all the other boys on the Grid and Lucas never gives much out and is a bit intense. Looking forward to Monday.

RE: [Spoilers] Dimitri Levendes
In watching 9.1 (again) last night, I noticed a moment for Dimitri. He has an interesting reaction after Habib says to him, "What would you know about dying for a cause?!" I can't tell if he is shocked by the depth of commitment of Habib or if he does indeed know a lot about dying for a cause. Hmmm...

Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet [Spooks];
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Well if he's SBS then he must have served in Afghanistan and perhaps Iraq, so I wonder if he has seen colleagues die. Also, I wonder why he chose a move to 5? It's not like he was in the intelligence Corp or something similar, which is a natural progression.

Dimitri is a tad handy with a computer? I thought SBS just knew how to swim, shoot, and fight sharks?

LOL! I was thinking the same thing during 9.2 - Is there nothing this man can't do!?! Add to the above: drive a cargo ship and disable surveillance cameras.

In looking into it a bit further, squadron M that specializes in maritime counter terrorism which requires a skill set not too far from what he is using on the grid.

I still wonder how and why he wound up at 5. There is history to this character. I hope they reveal it.
