New Tricks is scheduled for that time the week before.. but I don't know if it's a new series or not.. anyone find out?

It will be a repeat.

I agree with your suggestion of 29th. We are running out of likely dates in October.

NT gets good audience figures whether its a repeat or not. It will be keeping the slot warm for Spooks.

Yep, and it'll be up against The Bill on ITV which I don't think has been doing too well since it was revamped. And the fact that Spooks has been shown on a Thursday before (can't remember which series though!) makes me think it will be this date. Look for a schedule addition at the Press Office website this week.

It isn't in the BBC press release for W/E 30/10 Sad

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

^ But often they add information to that day-by-day. Remember they'll be working on updating the website and links for the current series (this takes time), and, like Nitrus says, it's highly likely they'll make an announcement with very short notice. I think we'll know this Thursday or Friday when it'll start. I just hope to the heavens it's not into November.

That's a good point. Actually, when is the Spooks website even going to update? Doctor Who website gets updated pretty much every week with news, and this hasn't changed since the end of Series 7.

Trust the BBC to be secretive about a show with a secretive subject matter! Tongue Big Grin

Its all about ITV I think. BBC knows they are in trouble so want to keep the upper hand and not give them a chance to put another top show on at the same time so as to split the viewer numbers.

How many weeks of advertising do they usually use to prepare for a new series?

1-2 weeks usually...

They often tease in the Autumn promos.. then actively promote it the week leading up to the air date.

Heck, I will take just the actors being interviewed about the upcoming season on morning t.v. shows. At this point, it is so dry here in the states regarding information, I will take anything thrown my way about Spooks. That is why I joined this site.
