How are we watching ep. 6?

RE: How are we watching ep. 6?
As I'm at uni I've persuaded a fellow Spooks fan on my course that we need to have a series 10 marathon so we will be spending the afternoon watching every episode of series 10 of spooks, getting some pizza as well probably, before settling down to watch the last episode... :'( My housemates will be thrown out if they talk through it, probably should warn them about that...

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

Actually, I'm going to buy some cake too - and have a nice long breakfast otherwise known as comfort eating^^. I too love the countdown clock - class.

I'm not thinking about 'missing it' yet, I'm taking Harry's words to heart and 'not thinking of it as the end'. Gulp.

RE: How are we watching ep. 6?
I had an idea that it would be great if we could all watch it together, but as that isn't possible why don't we all raise a glass of something, whether it be whiskey or tea, in salute at 9pm and toast the 10 fantastic years the show has given us? I would say do it at the end but I fear there will be too many tears flowing by then! Sad I sort of have visions of all the current and ex cast members sitting round their tv tomorrow at 9pm doing the same, and I think the fans should do something similar. Smile Cheers to the most moving, heartstopping, fabulous drama ever made. I know that by the end I will be watching through a veil of tears.

RE: How are we watching ep. 6?
This is my plan for sunday. I live in Canada so I will be able to watch the episode around the supper time. My plan is to eat a curry and drink sweet tea, because in episode 5.5. Harry and Ruth didn't do it, and they parted so I hope that if I have it for them the will stay together forever. I will probably wear something dark blue in honor of Ruth too.

Also I have a probably very stupid question. Is there something special with sweet tea or is it just normal tea ?

Harry RE: How are we watching ep. 6?
Christ on a bike, forgive my dramatics but this feels like the end of the bloody world or something. And the countdown clock that usually heigtens my excitement for the next episode has started to unerve me (in manner of bomb going off). I didnt get this upset when I left school. I wasnt even nearly moved to tears when my nephew was born this week, yet im gettin all teary eyed over the end of our beloved Spooks.

Thankfully everyone in my family adores the show, so kind of did a "trial run" on last weeks episode (yes I know were sad, we even gave it a name "Operation Love you and Leave you") it went a little like this. All family congregated in the living room, in manner of slumber party, blankets, fluffy pjs etc. Pizzas chips crisps and dips, and various alcohol bevrages.
Though a few hicups in the plan did arise, so a few rules had to be made before this sunday.

1: We are not allowed to discuss any spoilers we may have found out this week with each other. So the forum has been my sanctuary this week.

2:All mobile phones must be switched off before entering the living room.

3: Crisps are now banned as last week they were deemed to0 noisy along with any other food that makes a crunching sound.

4:As there is no adverts during spooks there will be no getting up to go to the toilet due to the fact it means walking past the tv screen and losing a few seconds of spooks will not be tolarated.

5: There will understandibly be no talking, a rule that was established just before ep 10.5 but needs to be mentioned again and amended due to fellow watchers making noises: eg snorting, sighing and clapping hand to mouth in the manner of "oh my god".

Scarlet, raising our glasses at the same time is a great idea, I will raise mine on 3 occasions, when the music starts, at a special Harry and Ruth moment (hopefully a kiss), and when the negative shows. It is sad that we cant all enjoy it together, but I suppose if we all did this at the same time, in a mad sort of way we are.

I dont care if Spooks is ending Im not leaving this forum. Not on your nelly.

What say the rest of you.

ps. I think its just normal tea with sugar in, that what I always assumed anyway, I could be wrong though Zpelland.

3 toasts is an even better idea! Smile Like your farewell party idea. I shall be watching alone so hopefully will not have any interruptions. Apart from the cat. As for sweet tea - yes I think the same as you Zpelland. Although tea generally seems to mean different things to the Americans (not sure about Canadians). In Texas, 'sweet tea' would probably mean iced tea with sugar...

RE: How are we watching ep. 6?
Still planning on toasting with Ardbeg. But, may need sweet tea to recover from same. FYI, as a friend of mine from Georgia once told me, sweet tea is not just tea with sugar. It is tea brewed (hot) with sugar or even sweet syrup and then served ice cold. Lovely antidote to hot Georgia August days when people tend to consume it NY the gallon.

The sweet tea Harry was making for Ruth is a typically old fashioned British response to shock or troubled times (sorry but it is nothing like the American iced tea being mentioned here). It's basically normal tea such as earl grey, breakfast tea etc. served hot, milky with lots of sugar. Preferably stewed in a tea pot first, although Harry was cutting corners with mugs and tea bags in 5.5.

Reminds of my granny and her tea pot and cosy! Perhaps that is a fitting tribute afterall, depending what 10.6 gives us. Of course, I might have to find something stronger, despite an early morning viewing time....

oh, I hear you! It's madness really, but also testament to just what magic has been created over the years, it doesn't come along very often. Very special indeed.

I love that you'll have the family with you to share it. I'll be alone and thousands of miles from home but know there is at least some kindred spirit here.

I especially had to laugh at :

Agreed, I'll join you. I'll raise a glass when (fingers crossed I know neither HArry nor Ruth die too.

RE: How are we watching ep. 6?
Oh for god's sake. I'm trying to be brave. I am a grown up after all. Then someone mentioned the final negative and it just kind of finished me off. Now I am wiping away tears. This is just too ridiculous.

This weekend has been entirely devoted to Spooks-related thoughts, without any plan or intention but that is just the way it goes. All family have been informed that no matter how dire the emergency I can not be contacted before 10.30 pm (allowing for melt-down time). I am alarmed that daughter has expressed a desire to watch the final episode with me. She is completely incapable of keeping silent for a whole hour. And she will have questions. Do I drug her/arrange a kidnap/tell her if she speaks she will find out just what sort of a bastard I can be?

I will raise those glasses with you all, particularly for the H/R moments.

I feel for you DogSoSmall. Wink I am so glad Mr TL is working nights tomorrow. I am alone to shout/scream/cry etc. No one will see me.

I will have my G&T ready. My chips and humus.

Pactum Serva right to the end everyone.
