Tom and Ellie
I personally loved the relationship between Tom and Ellie, and thought it sad when it broke off. Ellie was definitely in love, but with 'Matthew Archer'...not Tom Quinn. She was good for him and they 'clicked' but I don't think it could have lasted any longer, she didn't love 'Tom'. If you get me? It was a very interesting relationship. Views?

RE: Tom and Ellie
It was the whole backstory to Series 1 and it worked well.. it was very interesting to watch how a spy dealt with relationships in real life.

I would have liked to see them meet though.. rather then being introduced as a couple from the off.

RE: Tom and Ellie
I agree with Nitrus, I would have liked to see how the relationship had got so far without Ellie suspecting anything. Because once she did know everything went wrong.

RE: Tom and Ellie
It would have been interesting, but I suspect we got most of the interesting bits in the story as it were. Him having to explain that he wasn't Matthew, but rather he was Tom was awesome. I'd think her family would have had him investigated since he'd met them under one name and had to reintroduce himself with a different name. I mean they'd been sleeping together for a while when he told her. I'd think most women would have run away screaming when he told her that.

RE: Tom and Ellie
Or punch him. Pretty big betrayal, to think you know someone so well, and then you find out that you don't even know their real name.

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

Agreed. She was more in love with the IT whiz that was Matthew than the cool spy that Tom was. I would certainly not have appreciated being lied to like that, especially since it meant I didn't know that the guy I was in love with probably risked his life every day!

Apart from that, I found the adorable moppet (Maisie) a little irritating.

I found them both more than a little irritating.

That said, the cliffhanger was well done. Fortunately I had the DVD sitting on the shelf and was able to pop it in immediately to find out what happened. It was about 4 AM and I wanted to go beddy-bye but it would have been more uncomfortable to have to wait until next season as most did here.

Rooftop scene:
Beth and Dmitri sneak up and disarm Lucas, cuff him and lead him away.
Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!"

Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas."

RE: Tom and Ellie
I watched the end of the series 1 finale last year and was like NOOOO! (My mum, who had watched the next couple of series told me that
Spoiler: show
they had died... But I checked it later on wikipedia and proved her wrong Tongue
I thought that their 'final' moments were extremely well played by the two actors.

I quite liked Ellie and Maisie...
