RE: Episode 1 Discussion
That was totally worth the long wait!!!! I hated seeing Harry in that situation as he is always in control and on top of his game and I was so worried that harm had come to him and then we seen Ruth, happy with a family on an idyllic island, though I did kinda work out that the boy was too old to be hers!!! I then fretted that Ruth was about to be killed and then when Malcolm offered himself up to save her step son.....well that nearly finished me off!!! So much drama and heart stopping moments.....I bloody loved it Big Grin Just sad though that Malcolm wont be with us anymore, he's like Harry, very much a part of the furniture down on The Grid. Overall, fab acting by everyone and a welcome return for Ruth, I hope we will be rewarded with a slight hint of a Harry/Ruth relationship!!!

RE: Episode 1 Discussion
Is it me or is this the last ever series of our beloved show and they're tying up a few loose ends? I really hope it's me. Sorry to be the cause of so much misery! I just can't help thinking the whole thing is coming to an end. Hope I'm wrong.

You could see Malcolm's finale coming and I just knew he wouldn't die! And Ruth? Well, a great episode and again, you sensed her husband would not see out the first episode, and Nicola Walker really shone last night. In short, a great way to introduce series 8.

RE: Episode 1 Discussion
I'd hopefully like a bit more than a hint!!! lol. I've spent pretty much all day at school thinking about it, and I can accept Ruth's choice to move on (BTW I didn't mean that NW's acting wasn't amazing as Ruth, nor that the script writers mucked up Ruth, I could understand why she moved on, just wouldn't accept it,) but poor Harry! He needs a hug... And what about the postcards? It will be interesting to see if/when that gets mentioned...

Hmmm, I don't know whether to watch it again now though. It was an utterly depressing episode, but then again, it is Spooks. And it is brilliant.

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

Did I make that up? I'm sure somewhere I read that
Series 8 Spoiler: show
the postcard campaign would be on Spooks. But maybe I made that up... You know what, I may have just made that up. But it's under spoilers in case it is real... which it may be.

You can scream almh, just like I want to! But I have been wrong many many times before so why should this time be any different? We know it can't go on forever and 8 series is quite an achievement, methinks. Here's to being utterly wrong!
I wonder what the new 'techie' (techy?) will be like. We all know there has to be a geeky replacement for the wonderful and sorely missed Malcolm. Maybe someone like Moss from the IT Crowd?!

Thanks Nitrus, I did know that but it means spending an hour in a cold, draughty kitchen. I was after a more comfortable option, but I suppose I should have known better. Teach me that will.

Cheers

RE: Episode 1 Discussion
I think its viewing figures and trophies on mantel pieces that decide whether another series will be commissioned, not that its on its 9th series so we should pull the plug. Ruth had been asked to return before for past series and she said no. Just because she is back in this one doesnt mean the end. The BBC doesnt have many international non period drama's out there.

Going back to the more enjoyable subject of Harry though, did anyone else think he was going to tell Ruth he loved her when he asked her "did she love George" and Ruth didnt really answer, and Harry started to talk and Ruth interupted him? H4R not HvR
