Oh dear, the Lucas fans are slowly returning to the thread Wink lol, just joking. I think you can say that here, as long as it's related to episode 4 Smile

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
This has been my favourite episode of the series so far (tho' Episode 1 was also good), largely for the character development of Lucas and of course, for RAs acting: the slight alteration of his breathing when he turns to face Oleg after having to put on the boilersuit; the swallow and the washing out of his mouth after Sarah and Oleg have left, as if he's trying to stop himself being sick - wonderful stuff Big Grin.

Like the rest of you I was shocked at the murder of 'Mr Bell', I was looking forward to seeing more of Brian Protheroe's urbane charm! Still it served to confirm my suspicions of Sarah, she just seemed too in control and pleased with herself when flirting with Lucas! Naturally I was disappointed that he has fallen for someone so devious, though it was nice to see him smile a couple of times and make a joke!

I must admit that I'm getting a bit worried about all the suppressed emotions on the Grid, Lucas and his past + Sarah, Harry and Ruth and Ros, trying to come to terms with shooting Joe after they seemed to have developed a supportive relationship. So many lonely and damaged people. It could boil over in a grand finale. It's a good job Tariq seems to be a cheery computer geekWink otherwise it could become very heavy!

As others have said the look of the series has become dark particularly on the Grid, lots of concrete wall and dim light (as opposed to the bright clean offices of the last series). Lucas's flat was particularly depressing (tho' does perhaps reflect his feelings better than his first one).

Can't wait for the next episodeExclamation

I thought exactly the same thing !! No body else seems to have mention how awful his flat appeared, there were even bars at the windows. No wonder he told Harry he never liked the place anyway.

That's because we've killed off all the Lucas fans lol. Actually, where are they?
As a Lucas fan myself I have been busy re-watching the episode again and again !!

Definitely my favourite episode so far !!

I read a comment suggesting that, so I went back to hear it. At least to me, it didn't sound like Lucas. I really couldn't recognize the voice so I think is not someone from S7 or S8. Huh

Just my impression...

Based on the Episode 5 Summary, I'm going to guess
Spoiler: show
it's Ros' mentor, Jack Coleville, (ex-MI6).

Spoiler: show
Well I think you right, Radio Times has a description of the next ep's plot and mentions is him.

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
The episode 5 summary thread is a better place to speculate about the next episode, guys. Try and keep discussion in this thread to episode 4.

I know it looks exciting though! Big Ros episode!

Back to episode 4 discussion please.

I just don't think the actress is delivering a good performance, there were many instances in this ep where I could see her acting and it took me right out of the scene.

Yes, I've watched all the series 8 eps like three times now, and I have to agree with you. Aside from throwing her boss over the railing, Christine 2.0 has not shown anything that matches the level of acting by the other actors. She telegraphs a lot, her accent is, of course, awful, she's thinking the part instead of acting it. IMO, she brings a damper to every scene she's in, including those in ep 4 (just to get us back on thread).

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
Did any one believe Sarah when, at the end of the episode, she told Lucas that she loved him ? Was she lying to him for her own purposes or does she genuinely care for him ?

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
I pretty sure she was lying to him, the only thing she wants is to manipulate him, but I don't think she will get much from him (hope so). However I do think Lucas cares about her, not love.
She's a very cold woman, take the way she pushed his boss in cold blood. (Have you notice I don't like Christine 2.0? Tongue)
