RE: Episode 4 Discussion
Wow. What an episode! Sarah Caulfield most certainly has her own agenda now - loving Ruth and Harry, plus the fact Ruth got lots of Grid time. Don't you just want to be Lucas as well? Thankfully it was proved that Ros is human and again that preview looks great...

Also, in the preview, when Harry mentions "all serving officers" - Malcolm please? Tongue

"They're awfully tenacious, bless them. I think they want to give me a polonium suppository."

- Ros, 7.1

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
Here are some kneejerk impressions:

Ruth & Harry had some great lines and I feel they are slowly growing evermore closer.

As for Christine 2.0, what a bitch! The quicker she gets bumped off for being a two-face traitor the better!!

I really liked the scene when Christine 2.0 threw her boss over the railing, very cool.

Really not feeling the love for Jo.. they've moved on too quickly I think.

Really liked getting to know Lucas a bit more.. the suicide scene was particularly harrowing.

That's it for now, will most likely have more thoughts later on!

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
I loved this episode, Lucas showed us so much about him this episode and it was needed i think.
Richard Armitage was amazing he knows how to portrayed torture well.

Ruth and Harry were so cute together i seem to go awwwwww when they are on screen.

I knew there was something wrong with that woman and I knew I did not trust her, if she hurts lucas I will hunt her down- haha

but i loved this episode it may be my fav one this series so far

WOW!!! I loved this episode!! Sarah may actually turn out to be an interesting and unique character now!
Also, loved the tension with the bomb, after last week with Jo, it wouldn't have really surprised me if Ros was killed by it.

Oh, and is it just me, or did this episode seem particularly dark and edgy - Ros in the drug house, scenes of hard heroin being used, Sarah Caulfield being topless and putting her hand down Lucas' jeans?! Spooks always seemed quite tame in previous episodes.

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
Wow, that ending - I sure didn't see coming. A little soft porn effect with Sarah and Lucas in the first scenes. Most definetely don't see that here in the states at that time of night unless you have cable. Anyway, Lucas and the relationship with torturer was so believable. The transformation in his eyes when Lucas heard his voice. RA has always had the ability to pull it from deep within but wow, tonight he just proved yet again how good he really is imho. As for Sarah Caulfield, YIKES, Lucas thought he had issues with his torturer, he really doesn't know what he's in for with her does he? I can't get over this episode - I am still feeling jumpy inside just thinking about it. Gosh, this show has me hooked. Smile

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
I felt a little let down; guess I was expecting a major motion picture or something.

Did everyone else know that Lucas' torturer (can't call up the name right now) was going to be in the car and take Sarah? Here's where I think it's going. I'll put it in a spoiler but mods can remove it if they want to.

Spoiler: show
Sarah and the torturer (just found his name, Oleg) are working together and possibly Oleg is still working for the Russians to whom he was returned at the end. He spilled on Sarah to get trust and also see how involved Lucas is with her, using her (with her knowledge) to continue getting whatever it is they need and think Lucas can provide, something to do with the meeting in Basel next week. I'm not sure how to factor in the "Goodbye Ros" in the trailer, perhaps Lucas pretending to join Sarah and the Russians.

The "don't trust anyone" with the camera lingering on Harry was interesting. Is he a traitor, meaning Oleg was helping Lucas, or are they trying to set Harry up?
OK, taking my meds now.

Rooftop scene:
Beth and Dmitri sneak up and disarm Lucas, cuff him and lead him away.
Lucas screams, "No Harry please, I'd rather die!"

Harry: "We're sending you to rehab ................. in Texas."

RE: Episode 4 Discussion
Absolutely terrific episode -- hardly know where to begin!

Opening scene with Ruth and Harry -- he needed to talk to someone about Jo. I don't ever recall H saying anything like that to anyone before. Also, "They'll always be something else, Ruth." Making his feelings for her apparent -- ball is, as they say, in her court.

Subtle changes in work relationship too. In response to R's concern about Malcolm's missing contact, H twice challenges her to "prove it." Pushes her out of her usual back room role and almost goads her into an operational one and she rises to it.

Ros's flashbacks -- Jo's death is eating her up.

Lucas and Darshavin (sp?) -- each a prisoner of the other, both still captive in that prison. Lucas finally breaks free but then allows himself to become entrapped by Sarah because, "I haven't been able to feel anything for a long time."

Some great lines:
-Ros: "And you need to lose Nancy Drew for a few days." "Another FSB Adonis."
-Lucas: "Harry and me . . . it's a sexual thing."
-Walker: "I suspect everyone. It's in my nature." (shades of Harry!)
-Ruth: "Nick Manning, you clever boy." (shades of Malcolm!)

What I liked most about the ep is it left us with as many questions as it answered:
-Rogue intelligence agents -- Yalta 2.0? Juliet?
-Was Sarah working with Darshavin? Was he part of the rogue group?
-If not, who tipped off Darshavin that they had found the guy in the squat?
-Are they targeting Lucas to get to Harry?

Sarah throwing Walker over the railing was brilliant. She is one cold bitch!

One problem -- if Lucas and Ros are the only two MI5 agents left defending the UK, they're going to get real tired real soon!
