Yes, I agree JHyde -- Harry at his very worst! All the heartache and all the deaths and all the failures morphed into an uncontrollable rage, and he just couldn't stop it. It took over and the outcome was indeed tragic, for him and his children. Sad

RE: [spoilers] Harry's Diary
Yeah, he definitely totally lost the plot at that stage. Like lwhite says, I think everything just became too much. At least he recognised how awful his actions were. For the most part, Harry is very honest about his actions, stating more than once that he was ashamed of what he did. As long as he doesn't delude himself that he always does the right thing, there is hope for him.

JHyde, I also found the bit where he said that he nearly decided to end it all very sad. For this man, who we've gotten to know as such a strong, principled and steadfast man, to contemplate such a step is a sobering indication of how awful his circumstances must have been at that stage. Aww, now I just want to hug Harry, or at least have Ruth give him some TLC even more.

It has arrived !! The postman made a second delivery today. Hurrahh !! My original plan to hide in the bathroom and spend the day reading it has been scuppered though as Mr Tea Lady is painting it!

Congrats!! Do you have a Starbucks (or equivalent) nearby? You can spend hours in there reading and nobody bothers you.

Thanks lwhite53. Sevenoaks has about 100 coffee shops but I think you are only allowed in if you have "small child in buggy."

Having read about all the crap that's happened to Harry, I can't believe he got up the nerve to ask Ruth out! It must have been much harder for him than I ever realised.

RE: [spoilers] Harry's Diary
Definitely - he really had to build up the courage. I think that's something that they both share in common - they're both quite shy when it comes to their feelings, and neither really wants to have to deal with another broken heart and failed relationship.

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

RE: [spoilers] Harry's Diary
I have now finished it. I was a little disappointed with the second part of the diary. It's as though they skimped on detail because it dealt with the issues we have seen happen since season 1. There were many issues between Harry and other characters, Like Tom and Ruth specifically, that I felt they could have done more with. Still, it has shaped my insight into the character.

I can't remember if we talked about it here or elsewhere Silktie, but a few of us felt shortchanged by the last third of the book. A little rushed, almost like the last part of a paper you've left to the last minute.

Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature
