Favorite Episode?
What was your favorite episode of Series 1 and why?

Mine would have to be Traitor's Gate, the one with Peter Sulter at the protest.

I really liked this one because it was the first time we saw an MI5 officer "go wrong", plus Antony Head is a brilliant actor, and the whole storyline was interesting. This was also the episode when Tom told Ellie who he really was, fantastic TV!

So what's your favorite episode from Series 1?

RE: Favorite Episode?
Mine would be 1.6, with the mad Irish bomber.

I liked the fact that it made two groups who would not normally be seen dead together (MI5 and the IRA) work together to stop a bigger threat. Also liked the fact that it brought a bit more of Harry's backstory to light, and how Tom tried to manoeuvre around Harry to get the job done.

And who can forget Tom's meeting with the DG in the middle of his physical? Very funny!

RE: Favorite Episode?
Mine would have to be 1.2. I want to add something that happened in this episode as to why I enjoyed it, but I don't know how you use spoiler tags?

It was a really strong story overall.

RE: Favorite Episode?
Ah thank you Smile well the reason 1.2 is my favourite was I really enjoyed the story and

Spoiler: show
that deep fat fryer scene was incredibly shocking but so dramatic! Helen's death was so sad, especially as she was such a nice character. You could tell she was out of her depth on the undercover operation but I never thought she would die as they were treating her like a prominent character. That scene when she was killed demonstrated that Spooks didn't care who they killed off and has no boundaries (one of the reasons why I love the show so much) and that has carried on throughout the series, as all the main characters have left or been killed (aside from Malcolm and Harry) So tragic, but so well done

RE: Favorite Episode?
Spooks is quite different from normal shows, and does get rid of characters, at any time in the series that they want, something that did make 1.2 so much better.

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

Definitely 1.2 for me. THE scene was what sold me on Spooks.

RE: Favorite Episode?
I still love series 1. I think Anthony Head was one of the best guest stars they ever had, so 1.4 is special, and I love 1.6 as it really started to reveal Harry's character to us. I still find "I'm an old dog too" stays in my head as possibly the best description of his character in the entire show. (I can admit that now that someone's answered it in the "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" game.) It speaks volumes about how he sees himself and his confidence and occasional lack thereof.

Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature

Adam RE: Favorite Episode?
This is a difficult one as I really liked them all but I think personally the best was the final episode which left you in suspense. This is the beauty of having it on DVD you get to hear the commentary from the director and his thoughts on how the episode was put together, in this episode he deliberately shot it with long sequences to start knowing that the final few minutes was going to be made up of very short scenes, so subliminally the pace of the episode increased as the story unravelled, however you just knew something horrible was going to happen, as the camera lingered on the laptop, and they made such an issue of Tom locking it away. First rate!
Another thing that the commentaries revealed were the lengths they went to to create the right atmosphere and lighting, by soaking the streets for night shots and lighting the buildings several hundred yards down the road. I have to say this whole series did display a certain polish to the technical quality of the filming.

If you reveal your secrets to the wind, you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees.
