I think BBC America is running about the same.

RE: New Doctor Who Discussion
I just loved the ending of this week episode, so funny.
It's great that other countries are able to watch it so soon, I guess selling Dr Who abroad is probably very easy for the BBC.

It's also that they lose viewers by the week if they stretch it out.

RE: New Doctor Who Discussion
Another good episode tonight with The Vampires of Venice, I am really enjoying this new series. The writing was great and there were good performances from everyone, especially Helen McRory. Loved the interaction between Rory and the Doctor, especially the part when the Doctor jumps out of the cake, brilliant reactions from the stag party.
HM was good and I liked her ending, with her admonishing the Doctor to "Remember us. Dream of us". Also loved all the teasers for the season arc, the cracks and the silence which are becoming even more threatening.

RE: New Doctor Who Discussion
That was one of my fave lines about the cake. I also can't stop laughing at the idea of the Doctor owing Casanova a chicken.

This episode is probably the one I have liked least so far, but I loved Rory taking it to the Doctor 'People feel this need to impress you." Too right they do! I would! Lots of loose ends, some of which I would have liked to have seen resolved.

By the way, I stuffed up. Toby Whithouse wrote this one. Chris Chibnall's episode is called 'Cold Blood'.

I'm loving Matt Smith a lot in this role. I love his speaking voice and that almost dancing move he does, pirouetting around his new foe every episode - so funny. He's very impressive, I think and people seem to like him a lot.

Next week looks terrific, very Madeleine L'Engle even.

RE: New Doctor Who Discussion
I really like the addition of Rory with the Doctor, I think that worked very well. Although it did strike me as very reminiscent of the time the Doctor brought Rose's boyfriend Mickey (I think) into the plot.
Did they keep saying the aliens were fish, because to me they looked more like lobsters.

RE: New Doctor Who Discussion
I didn't like Rory tagging along, purely because it's following the same old DW pattern, new companion, companion brings boyfriend along. They need to do something different with the dynamic of the Doctor and his companion.

A good point, Nitrus. I think that is why one of my favourite (recent) companions was Catherine Tate's character, Donna, as she wasn't a typical youngster running around after the Doctor. In the past the Doctor has had a male companion which I think would be a nice change.
