Quote:An interesting follow-up to the "Russian sleeper" story. It appears, according to the Washington Post, that this op was shipped to US authorities by a high-ranking Russian spy who has disappeared from Russia and is believed to be living in hiding somewhere in the West.

if true that would go someway to backing up what i thought, a defection of some sorts is still not off the cards. though one thing that is puzzling is, if true then where did the wp get their facts from? or are they offering conjecture? a high ranking russian spy defecting would not be mainstream news and nobody privy to that kind of info would talk as there would be very few people privy to it in the first place.

It wouldn't be mainstream news except in Washington, DC where all the US security services (CIA, FBI, NSA, Pentagon intelligence, etc) have their main headquarters. And the Washington Post has reliable contacts in all of them. Leaks are rife in DC and the Post is always on the receiving end!

hmm yes granted but i seem to remember a guy called aldrich ames who greatly let down and hurt the cia, so i think that they would be and are more careful especially with this kind of thing. the other agenices would after ames would also be more careful. but as you say it still doesnt absolutely guarantee total privacy as eric shmidt will testify
real life spook incident if anyone is interested, perhaps you could help me with it.

its a high level operation still ongoing, i believe. involving i believe members of the drug squad and maybe fraud squad?

the major part or at least one bit of the op seems to be centred in lincoln, lincolnshire.

police fit's are active as is covert surveilance of property/s and covert surveilance or perosn/s when mobile. some of which are innocent and have no evidence to suggest or imply they have commited any crimes.

covert electronic eavsdropping equipment placed inside an innocent persons's house.

crimes being commited that the police are turning blind eye to and trying to hush up.

corrupt police officers involved, innocent person tries to expose them and their illegal activites and is door stepped and threatened to keep quiet.

i repeat this is a genuine spy incident, maybe not involving actual spies but still involving a secretive state operation.

i also have to point out, for legal reasons, that neither i nor anyone else i know are trying to derail the offical police operation, and any operation that is ongoing is for a reason. we only want to end the apparent corruption and blind eye attitude to the suffering of an innocent party who has done ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong.

any help or ideas gratefully recieved and in return 1st rounds on me

RE: Real-life Espionage Incidents Discussion
fair enough, but my intention was to deliver justice, whilst it is not mainstream news worthy it is real and comes from a reliable source, me. when we see a report of some incident from the news, how do we know that their sources are reliable? there have been several if not more news stories where sources were missinformed or wrong.
but i will refrain from posting anything more about this and will only post stories that have been on itv news or bbc, hope that is confirmed enough.
perhaps when this is all over an dit then is confirmed i would be allowed to post it.

According to the Daily Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article...alert.html MI5 will have uncover officers in the Olympic Park, which isn't that surprising.

God, the Daily Mail's articles are rather embarrassing. "Spy ring: The likes of TV's Spooks have got the Olympic stadium covered" ...seriously? Tongue

I'm not sure if I'd call the Daily Mail a particularly refutable source, but I would assume MI5 to have agents crawling all over the Olympics anyway. There's too much of a potential threat for them not to have done.

I thought it was rather ironic that they chose a picture with Sarah Caulfield in considering
Series 8 Spoiler: show
that she was actually a CIA agent and an evil traitor!
typical Daily Mail.
