Ros Ros' introduction to the team
I must say, I thought it was one of the stickiest introductions we've seen on Spooks. One of the things that is so brilliant about the character is that you can never tell what side she's playing on. A brilliant addition methinks Smile

I certainly agree.... not sure about Adam's recruitment process though! lol.

I like Ros she is certainly born to be a spook, and is a fantastic character with a lot of depth, and interesting history.

I think with both Jo and with Ros, the writers of the show were trying to make a point that Adam isn't a "typical" spook. They were making a point that he would look for solutions any place he could get them. Also, I think they were stepping away from bringing in any more of Adam's former colleagues (Fiona, Zaf) as members of the team. I was beginning to think they had moved the grid from MI-5 over to MI-6.

RE: Ros' introduction to the team
Re watching series 5, whilst typing. Could'nt really fathom Ros out in the first half of episode one, but when the centre ground dissapeared, I think we all got a taste of just how awesome a character she was going to be. Smile I love how they combine 4 story lines in this one, Michael Collingwood, and Harry. Zaf going after Colin's killer. Adam and Ros trading information, and then Jo and the Prime minister's son. Well thats the abreivated version Smile Excellent episode and a different introdution of a new member to the team.

I think Series 5 may actually be my favorite. A lot happens in a short period of time.

Series 5 has a lot of depth - I can watch it over and over and still see new aspects. Rupert, Hermione and Peter worked really well together.

RE: Ros' introduction to the team
See, to me the way they introduced the character creates a significant problem. There is no way in Hades that someone involved in a coup plot against the government will be brought into the Security Services so smoothly or quickly. Not to mention the fact that she betrays them a SECOND time during S6 by working for the Yalta group - and still she becomes team leader once she's back in S7?! Now I know that it's only a show and not reality, but to me loyalty to your country and your colleagues is a fundamental part of the show, so I have a bit of a problem with the way her betrayals are just glossed over.

That's a very valid point when you think about it...could it be that Ros could still be seduced by the dark side or indeed turn double or even rogue agent?

When I see Ros, I keep thinking Tess. I'm not sure what it is about her that reminds me of Tess.

They're both utterly ruthless and will probably cross anyone they meet to get what they want. But for some reason I prefer Ros, no idea why. Perhaps it's because I've seen more of her character, or because Ros gets better lines Smile

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.
