Don't be afraid! He would be expecting fan interaction at this kind of function. Just let him know that he has a lot of fans that have missed him and were thrilled to see him again in S9 who would like to know if he is contracted for at least another guest shot or two again. He may not be able to answer but there's no harm in asking. If nothing else, he will know how much he is loved!

I just had a horrible thought that maybe Malcolm is the one who provided Lucas with all the kit to kidnap Ruth and frame Harry? You know he didn't leave the grid empty handed and he certainly has enough money to purchase whatever he wants.

While I would hate to see Malcolm go that route, it certainly would be interesting!

Still, it'd be a super turnaround, wouldn't it? (I think you can tell I love "twists.")

However many episodes for series 10 are produced - will be a bonus considering 'the cuts' that are threatening to descend. I have all series of Spooks - which I watch in strict sequential order - reviving past officers whom have departed the service in various manners - it is just so good. No other country can emulate such high standards of TV Drama.

And it finally begins....

According to the lovely Phillipa over at the Nicola Walker Forum, Sam Vincent tweeted this today:

Posted by Sam Vincent on Twitter
"Spooks readthrough today. Got that old thrill of "sweet Lord I hope the actors don't completely loathe every last Fudgeing word of it"

Wouldn't you just love to be a fly on the wall for this!?!

(Are you out there, Phillipa?)

Oh excellent. Time for all London based spooks to keep their eyes peeled.

Does anyone have an idea how long it takes from read-through to the beginning of shooting?

RE: Series 10 Filming & Behind the Scenes
I'd imagine filming wouldn't be more than a week behind. At least from going by behind the scenes information on other BBC shows.

RE: Series 10 Filming & Behind the Scenes
Wasn't NW slated to start filming on March 14th? Right after Season Greetings closes? Sounds like the actors are all starting up at the same time.

From what I have been able to gather from commentaries from past series, each episode has 1 week of pre-production (a read through is standard pre-production stuff), 2 weeks of filming and 1 week of editing. They may change it but that has been the general production schedule. I could be off a bit though. They may take 2 weeks for pre-production and editing. Can't remember. Anyhoo, each director takes 2 consecutive episodes. Whoever is directing 10.1 and 10.2 could conceivably have been on the job for at least this week already.

I'm really kind of hoping that Alrick Riley is back to Direct this series. I like his touch.

According to tweet I saw from Ian Wylie, filming is due to start the week commencing March 14th. I have 'Spooks filming'' as a saved search! (not that I'm obsessed or anything Silba)
